2024 Ford Focus is a very family-friendly vehicle where the Focus was once a byword for fun-to-drive family cars and will be replaced with an electric car lineup.

The Ford Focus is unlikely to be in production after 2025. We got this information on Ford’s announcement that it would end car production in Saarlouis, Germany.

Saarlouis was in the process of producing Ford’s next generation of electric vehicles but lost to the company’s factory in Valencia in Spain.

Ford Europe chairman Stuart Rowley told reporters:

“We don’t have in our planning cycle additional models coming into Saarlouis” as well as he also added that Ford is investigating “other opportunities” for the plant that includes selling it to another automaker.

Overnight Ford announced its plant in Valencia, Spain, had won an internal bidding war against the Saarlouis plant, Germany, for the right to “assemble vehicles based on electric vehicle architecture next generation”.

Ford has not announced which EVs or types of vehicles will be produced at the Valencia plant, which currently produces the Kuga/Escape, Transit Connect, Galaxy, and S-Max.

Ford fans will note the mid-2020s model won’t be the first zero-emission Focus ever made, as the modestly named Focus Electric was offered in the US from 2011 to 2018 (based on the third generation model), pairing a 107kW electric motor with a 33.5kWh battery (from 2017 onwards) for a claimed mileage of only 185km.
